Discussions during participatory planning revealed that the farming communities relate their wellbeing to several aspects.
- Enhanced Eco-System Services (i.e., through encouraging protection of the natural water resources and revitalization of traditional water sources)- Conservation of water resources in a sustainable manner will help in maintaining flow of ecosystem services that are vital for the well being of poor in particular
- Increased biodiversity – Through revival of water resources, plantation, improving the ground water level status supported by excavation of TcBs and farm ponds.
- Enhanced food security –Increased productivity due to higher soil moisture as an effect of water harvesting initiatives.
- Reduced vulnerability to climate change – Through integrated water resource management, livelihood options due to leveraging of fund from government organisations.
